iDEAS in China

 Background:

Jamie and Bethany met as Christian camp counselors in Mississippi. They married and now have two sons, Beckett (6-8-2016) and Wendell (12-5-2018). Bethany is the daughter of Jon & Alayne Griffin.

Ministry: The Sextons have worked for two years already, as full-time teachers in China, where they supported a youth group and worked in youth camps. During that time, the Lord steered their experiences to concentrate on working for Chinese youth. Two specific experiences working with youth in camp-like settings as well as their experience teaching, grew their hearts towards this specific demographic.

As educators, we aim to be involved with the youth of Taiyuan through leadership building programs found in community centers and adventure camps to help Chinese youth experience the joy in finding out who they are made to be in Christ, apart from seeing their value only in success academically and financially.”

Prayer Requests:

-Acclimation to China

-Praise for provision of financial and prayer support

-For health, safety, wisdom, spiritual vitality

-For gains in cultural, linguistic and administrative challenges

-For the hearts of youth to be captured and transformed by the Gospel
