Bill and Valerie have been married for 36 years and have two grown children: Will and Ruthie. Bill grew up in Huntsville, AL, and Valerie is originally from the New England area.

Bill was converted to faith in Christ after reading John Stott’s book, Basic Christianity, while majoring in geology at the University of Wyoming. Upon graduation, he turned down a seat at the Naval Flight School in Pensacola because he felt called to serve God full-time. For several years, Bill served on the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ (now Cru) where he met Valerie.

After obtaining his Masters of Divinity degree from Covenant Theological Seminary, Bill served as an associate pastor in the eastern suburbs of Pittsburgh and then as a church planter and pastor in Lancaster County Pennsylvania for 18 years. A few years ago, he began serving churches as their interim pastor in partnership with McGowan Global. Covenant Presbyterian Church is his third such experience. Bill enjoys assisting churches in transition.

Bill’s favorite places are Wyoming and New England where Valerie is from. He is more of a mountain person than a beach person and enjoys spending time with his family and reading.
