Susan and I were married in 1974 in Cedarville, Ohio. Susan continues to work as an educational therapist and tutor. God has graciously given us four children. Daniel and Victoria live in Peachtree Corners, GA with their two boys. Daniel is an entrepreneur and executive trainer. Krista and Brad live in Cloudland Canyon State Park, GA with their three children. Krista worked for Covenant College and MTW but now is glad to be a wife and mom. Anna worked for Chattanooga Christian School and now owns her own business here in Chattanooga. Scott and Kinsey live near Asheville, NC with their son. Scott works for the US Postal Service.

I am a third-generation missionary and pastor and was born on the mission field in Fortaleza, Brazil. As a family, we lived in Wisconsin, British Colombia, Washington, and Illinois. I attended Cedarville College where I met Susan. After marriage, we both worked for years in Christian education, teaching in Ohio, Washington, California, New York, and Georgia. I was ordained as a PCA pastor in 1997 and pastored in two churches before being called to work in missions in 2005 and joining the staff at CPC in 2009.

After over 20 years of working as a teacher and administrator in Christian schools, the elders of the church where I was serving as an elder encouraged me to stand for ordination as a pastor in the PCA. After ordination, I served briefly as Associate Pastor at that church before becoming the solo pastor of another PCA congregation, where I ministered for seven years. God then clearly called me to missions work, training and equipping pastors and leaders in Africa. I was called by CPC as Associate Pastor in 2009, but I continue my involvement in missions both through my work with Equipping Leaders International and as Missions Pastor at CPC.

Susan and I met as vocalists in the Concert Choir at Cedarville College (the basses were seated next to the altos). So, music has always been a part of our life together and as a family. I even sang and played guitar in a folk group, Stillwater, while in college. I have rather eclectic tastes in reading: theology, science fiction, history, westerns, meteorology, DIY manuals, etc. I also enjoy travel, hiking, genealogy, writing, and spending time with our grandchildren.
