Karen and I have been married for 28 years. We have three kids. John just started work as a financial analyst in Philadelphia. Erik is a mechanical engineering student at Tennessee Tech. Linnea is a brilliant senior in high school. Karen works for the Covenant College Foundation on Lookout Mountain.

I was born in Midwest City, Oklahoma, but have lived all over the US, and briefly in Italy and Iceland (Air Force family). I grew up in two different households because of divorced parents. My love for Christ blossomed as a college student in Anchorage, Alaska, through a dear Baptist friend.

Karen and I were a part of a wonderful church in Wheaton, Illinois, when both of us began to think vocational ministry might be for us. Karen grew up with a love for serving the church, but it was new for me. We loved our pastors and I was encouraged to test my teaching abilities. After four years, we were sent to Covenant Theological Seminary.

I have loved Italian cars since I was a little boy and always search for them when traveling in the US and Europe. I love to sketch, drink (excellent) coffee, and work in the yard. I read a lot of theology, literature, poetry, and British car magazines.
