Matt and I were married in December 2000. We have three amazing, wonderful kids - Charlie, Sophie, and Ellie - who are all in the process of launching into adulthood.
I grew up moving frequently, living in West Virginia, New Mexico, Colorado, Virginia, Maryland, Germany, and back to Maryland. I ended up in Georgia at Covenant College, where I met Matt - who, in contrast, had lived in only two houses in Georgia his whole life! After we were married, I worked as a nurse while Matt attended med school. We eventually moved to Knoxville, where we started our family. I was fortunate to stay home with our little ones and later had the opportunity to homeschool them until just recently. Once Charlie left for college and the girls enrolled in traditional school, I enjoyed a season of "mini-retirement" and some much-needed rest. However, I had a desire to engage in more meaningful work. When this Administrative Assistant position became available, I eagerly pursued the opportunity, interviewed, and gratefully accepted the role.
We have been members of CPC since 2009 when we moved to Chattanooga. Over the years, I’ve taught the four-year-old Sunday School class, led an amazing group of high school girls on Wednesday nights, and currently satisfy my “baby fix” by working in the nursery. I also had the great honor of serving on the most recent pulpit search committee, where I met some truly wonderful members of CPC. I’m incredibly thankful for this role, which allows me to connect more deeply with the church. The longer I serve here, the more I realize - it’s not just a job; it’s a ministry.
I love walking and hiking, occasionally running, working out, snow skiing, playing pickleball, and spending time with family and friends playing cards and games.
