Kara and I have been married for 13 years. We have three boys. Benjamin is a third grader at Thrasher Elementary School. He likes reading, playing the piano, and camping in the backyard. Colin is 5 years old and loves all things sports and dinosaurs. Theo is our rambunctious 2 year old. He loves balloons, balls, and playing hide-and-seek. Kara is a professor of Exercise Science at UTC.
I was born and raised in Memphis, TN. When I was in high school I was very involved in my church's youth ministry. It was there that a few youth leaders mentored me. Their Christ-like example and friendship had a profound and lasting influence on my faith.
In college, through my involvement in RUF, I developed a deep love for the church and for God's word, and I began to feel a call to vocational ministry. The pastors of my church gave me opportunities to develop my gifts through serving and teaching in the youth ministry of my church. Not long after that I enrolled at Beeson Divinity School.
I love trying new restaurants around town, and I enjoy cooking, especially BBQ and making my own pizza. One of my favorite things to do is travel to South Bend, IN in the fall to cheer on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. (I am an avid fan.) A few of my other hobbies are reading, woodworking, and playing sports with my boys.
