Zach and I were married in 2012, and are currently in the midst of raising our two beautiful girls. Abby is four, autistic, and absolutely full of joy. We just welcomed our baby, Elsie, in January. We don’t know much about her personality yet but she is already very wide-eyed and smiley!

I grew up outside of Atlanta with my wonderful parents and younger sister. We attended the same PCA church from the time I was a toddler, and I am grateful to have never known a time without Jesus in my life. I was blessed to attend a university model Christian school through middle and high school and graduated from Lee University in 2011 with a degree in elementary education. After getting married, my husband and I spent some time in Cleveland, a year in Clarksville, TN, and decided in the end that our hearts belonged to Chattanooga. We are thankful the Lord allowed and enabled us to settle here in this beautiful city!

Between substitute teaching and full-time positions in my own classroom, I spent about a decade as an educator, mostly in Hamilton County Schools. It's been beautiful to see how my life experience to this point prepared me so well for my role and ministry at Covenant. God is so good in His story writing!

Growing up, my dad was a deacon and my mom taught Sunday School and was involved in the women’s ministry, so we were at church just about any time the doors were open. I was no stranger to setting up and cleaning up events, volunteering in nursery and VBS, and spending a fair amount of time running around with kids after church. My family has only been attending Covenant for a short time, but having grown up in a similar PCA church, it already feels like home here. At the start of 2022, I was given the privilege of assuming the role of the Children’s Ministry Director here at Covenant, which means I get to minister to the next generation of the church from birth through 5th grade!

I am a compulsive maker and have dabbled in just about any craft you can think of. Why buy it when you can make it yourself? I had a small Etsy shop for several years selling baby bibs, blankets, and toys. There is not much time for crafting these days while raising little ones, but I’ll still occasionally sneak in some time at the sewing machine or fit in small projects here and there. I also love to decorate spaces and am a big believer in the power of a beautiful and intentionally put-together room to make people feel valued and loved. And in case you can’t tell by the word count of this bio, I love to write!
