Sermon Intro: If God gave to the fathers of our faith only a taste of that grace which he has poured out on us in Christ, if they saw only an obscure picture of Christ, who is now set clearly before our eyes in the word of God, and yet they were content to live as aliens in this world in the hope of a better country, how much more should we! We know trials. We know disappointments. We don’t yet experience the full realization of God’s promises. But we are able to bear it all with hope because God, in our Savior, has redeemed us for eternal life in a better country.
