Sermon Intro: Few people who sought a meeting with Jesus were more commendable than this rich young man. He was earnest, sincere, religious, and devoted. He was the kind of man many of us might secretly admire--a model in his community. He had everything except what he really wanted, the assurance of eternal life. This meeting started out so promisingly, but then Jesus put his finger on the man’s idol...and things ended sadly! Here is an encounter that is rich in instruction for all who would receive heavenly treasures from Jesus.
