My husband, Jonathan, and I met while we were college students and married 2 1/2 years later in 2000. We have two adult children (our son, Carey, and daughter, Camille) and are enjoying our newly empty-ish nest. We also love how God is growing our family - Carey is married to his wonderful high school sweetheart, Sarah. Until grandchildren come along, we will continue to spoil our beloved rescue pup, Maxwell. Jonathan works for Palo Alto Networks in Cloud Security.
I am the oldest daughter of a family of all girls. My dad and mom loved us, taught us to love learning, hard work, and our family, and showed us how to trust the Lord. I grew up in a rural community outside of Butler, Pennsylvania (about an hour from Pittsburgh). As a family, we went on amazing adventures, learned to praise the Lord through difficult times, and helped where we could to clear land and build our family’s house. In my humble opinion, it was one of the best childhoods anyone could ever imagine.
As far back as I can remember, my family went to church, and I learned that Jesus loved me and came to rescue me from my sin. What a blessing! I was also privileged to attend Christian schools and Bob Jones University. To hear God’s Word and wisdom alongside academics showed me that all of life (no matter what I do or think) should bring glory to God.
From an early age, I had a tender and willing heart for ministry - no matter into what area God should call me. It has been a humbling, exciting journey to see how the Lord has led and equipped me, wasting none of my experiences, for serving the body of Christ. I am so thrilled to be a part of CPC’s staff and to help assist this covenant community in being hospitable.
Besides exploring new flavors and finding recipes, I always enjoy learning more about my personal family history. Genealogy connects me to my roots and our nation’s history at large. History is one of my passions, and I’m always ready to learn more about what happened and why it happened. I also enjoy crafts, creative writing, and a good cup of steaming tea!
