At church please pick up a copy of our Holy Week Reading Guide. This guide has been prepared to help you follow the events of the last week of Jesus before His death on the cross. The week begins Saturday evening when Jesus and His disciples arrive in Bethany on the eastern side of Jerusalem, and continues to the resurrection appearances on Sunday. The guide helps you associate events and teaching with particular days (where Scripture makes this clear), and helps you see the very words the gospel writers use to communicate this week.

In each gospel, the death and resurrection is the focal point. It may surprise you see that there is a considerable amount of material in this final week. The long version of the Holy Week Reading Guide includes every section from the gospels related to this week. It is very long. The short version of the Holy Week Reading Guide is what is printed in booklet form and distributed at church. This shorter version replaces the text of parallel accounts with Scripture references for you to look up later. Please click the links below to view and/or download the shorter or longer digital versions of the Holy Week Reading Guide.

One last note. Our pastors are working to create two worship devotion guides for the home, each year. One will carry us through Advent, and another will carry us through Lent and Holy Week. These are meant to include Scripture to be read aloud in the home, music to prepare for and expand our corporate worship together, relevant devotions, packaged in artful booklet form. These will serve your personal devotion, but also serve as gifts to friends and neighbors to help them see what’s important to our church.
